Jesse Neilson, HR and Staff Liaison

Jesse Neilson (he/him) joined the North Portland Soccer Club board after discovering a deeper love for the game through his oldest son's joy on the field. A public interest attorney and lifelong advocate for equity and access, Jesse sees grassroots soccer as a powerful tool for inclusive community building and youth development. He brings experience in coalition leadership and systems change, with a focus on making institutions more responsive to underserved communities. Jesse is especially passionate about ensuring all kids, regardless of background, have a safe and supportive space to play and grow. He lives in North Portland with his family, and when he is not getting megged by a six-year-old, he can be found cheering on from the sidelines.
